If you are planning a fireworks display this weekend, take time to prepare and consider those around you.
The British Fireworks Association encourages everyone to follow the Firework Code whenever they use fireworks. A few reminders can help people plan responsibly:
- Buy fireworks from licensed retailers.
- Read and follow the instructions on every firework. Products can have different requirements, so check each one.
- Tell neighbours about your plans, particularly where there are pets, young children or people who may be disturbed.
- Make arrangements to keep pets safe, and avoid fireworks late at night.
Consideration for others should be part of planning every display. Giving neighbours advance notice allows them to prepare, while following the product instructions helps you understand how each firework should be used.
